Our 12-inch wheels: the optimum for the city
We tested everything from 8-inch to 10-inch to 20-inch wheels during the development of the Kwiggle.
We found that 12-inch wheels offer the best compromise between riding comfort and maneuverability.
Even though millions of people ride 8-inch or 10-inch e-scooters through cities, we wanted to achieve even more riding comfort and safety.
Although 16- and 20-inch wheels have a slight advantage in terms of comfort, this is clearly at the expense of maneuverability – which is particularly important in the busy city. In order to achieve a comparable level of comfort with 12-inch wheels, we deliberately chose wide tires with a width of 50mm so that you can ride just as comfortably on uneven surfaces as you would with larger wheels.
The result: an amazingly comfortable ride!
By the way: our patented drive ensures that you don't have to pedal faster with our 12-inch wheels than with larger wheels.
The new lightness of cycling
You ride a folding bike better upright.
If you ride in an upright position, you need fewer gears. Why? The smaller gears are for riding uphill. If you ride uphill while standing, you shift into a heavier gear and let your weight do the work. That's why the upright Kwiggler can climb the same hills with just three gears that another folding bike with six gears needs.
When riding a conventional bike, the upper body is constantly at an angle. This puts strain on the back, shoulders and wrists.
When riding in the upright Kwiggle position, however, all the muscles remain relaxed in motion, the joints are relieved and in the stand-sit position you put more pressure on the pedal and effortlessly ride faster than with ordinary folding bikes.

After more than 10 years of development and countless long-term stress tests, experienced engineers and technicians, led by mechanical engineer Karsten Bettin, succeeded in bringing the Kwiggle to market. THE FRAME
We only use high-strength stainless steel and 7000-series aluminum for the frame of the Kwiggle.

Chain wheel and chain guard are made of one piece, which results in a very noble look.

In trolley mode, the Kwiggle is easy to pull. Just like a trolley suitcase.
The trolley wheels are made extra large for this purpose, so that pulling of the folded Kwiggle is easy and pleasant everywhere, even on uneven terrain.

THE LUGGAGE RACK
The rack is another highlight on the Kwiggle. We wanted to provide our customers with a solution for their existing Ortlieb bicycle bags without having to spend extra money on a separate luggage system. We have developed a rack that fits perfectly into the folding size, allows at least 10 kg load and weighs only 75 g.All current Ortlieb rear-wheel or Ortlieb front-wheel bags fit on the luggage carrier.
