The optimum for the city
During the development of the Kwiggle, we tested everything from 8-inch to 10-inch and 20-inch wheels.
We discovered that 12-inch wheels offer an optimum compromise between riding comfort and maneuverability.
Even though millions of people ride through the cities on 8-inch or 10-inch e-scooters, we wanted to achieve even more riding comfort and safety.
16- and 20-inch wheels do have a slight advantage in terms of comfort, but this is clearly at the expense of maneuverability - especially in busy urban areas.

In order to achieve a comparable level of comfort with 12-inch wheels, we deliberately chose wide tires with 50 mm,
to ride just as comfortably on uneven roads as with larger wheels.

The new lightness of cycling
It's better to ride a folding bike upright
If you ride upright, you need fewer gears. Why? The lower gears are for riding uphill. If you ride uphill standing up, you shift into a heavier gear and let your weight do the work. That's why the upright Kwiggler can climb the same hills with 3 gears as another folding bike with 6 gears.
With conventional cycling, the upper body is constantly in an inclined position. This puts strain on your back, shoulders and wrists.
When riding the Kwiggle in an upright position, on the other hand, all muscles remain relaxed and in motion, the joints are relieved and in the upright sitting position you put more pressure on the pedals and therefore ride faster than with conventional folding bikes.

We only use high-strength stainless steel and 7000-series aluminum for the frame of the Kwiggle.
